Andrew Gifford

As founder of GJW – the UK’s pre-eminent lobbying firm throughout the 1980s and 1990s – Andrew has enjoyed a long and varied career in public affairs. He has a well established network in both the City and Westminster and has advised on a multitude of issues across a variety of sectors. Andrew has worked on privatisations and major mergers and acquisitions, and he has advised governments and multinationals. His experience includes work with major US and European corporations as well as smaller and mid-sized groups with interests in emerging markets. Andrew began working with Tavistock in 2010 having sold his interest in GJW and completed a variety of international commercial projects.

Beyond his work in the communications and lobbying industry, Andrew has been a Director of a number of Investment Trusts. He was also a founding director of a FTSE 250 oil and gas company and 4th Estate, the publishing company.
